Charity begins at work!
They say charity begins at home, but judging by what we’ve been up to here at HRM HQ over the last few months, it seems that charity actually starts at work!
From helping to clear canal paths as part of a volunteering programme for the Sheffield Olympic Legacy Park, to donning our favourite football shirts in aid of the Bobby Moore Fund, we’ve certainly been busy on the CSR front recently.
We’ve continued our long-standing support for our friends at the Cathedral Archer Project (CAP), a charity which support homeless people in Sheffield. Our copywriter Jill Theobald and account manager, Eleanor Morrell, volunteered at the charity’s Breakfast Club, which serves fresh breakfasts for those who otherwise might not get the chance to have a meal.
Jill also attended CAP’s Breakfast BBQ, a networking event for corporate partners where she met other local businesses who support the charity whilst getting the chance to try some delicious food!
And finally, just this month some of our team donned their walking boots to take part in the charity’s Walk in My Shoes event, which saw them complete the five-mile Five Weirs walk along Sheffield’s famous River Don.
It also seems we’re partial to a cake or two here at HRM, with the team doing everyone proud with their delicious homemade creations! We took part in a cake sale for Dementia Awareness, as well as The Children’s Hospital Charity’s Bake It Better day – raising funds for Sheffield Children’s Hospital.
Most recently we turned our office green in support of Macmillan’s Coffee Morning. And our account executive Laura Metcalfe showed off her vegan baking skills by bringing in some delicious Bakewell tart cupcakes – which certainly went down a treat!
We have also donned our best denim in aid of Jeans for Genes Day, which raises funds to transform the lives of children across the UK who are affected by life-altering genetic disorders, as well as getting involved in Red Nose Day.
And we’re not stopping there! Over the next few months we have even more fundraising events up our sleeve, including going dotty over Children in Need and donating gifts to Hallam FM’s Mission Christmas appeal, so watch this space!
