HRM takes PRide in awards shortlisting

We’re delighted to have been shortlisted in the PRide Yorkshire & Lincolnshire Awards 2017!

We have been nominated in the Best Use of Social Media category after we proudly helped manage Sheffield United Football Club’s match day social media for the final 10 games of the Club’s 2016/17 season, when the Blades won promotion back to the SkyBet Championship.

The CIPR PRide Awards recognise industry leaders in each region for the outstanding work being delivered for clients, and we’re extremely proud to be on the shortlist.

Having been given a brief of widening the reach and improving the Club’s connection with its fans via social media during the club’s 2016/17 promotion push, we dramatically increased the club’s following, interaction and engagement on all social media channels, reaching almost 40 million users on Facebook alone and a further 30 million on Twitter.

Martin Ross, our managing director, said: “We are of course delighted to have been shortlisted for this prestigious award – it’s something which further underlines the incredible work of our exemplary team here at HRM.

“It was a privilege to manage Sheffield United’s matchday social media towards the end of the 2016/17 season, giving fans unprecedented access as the Blades secured promotion back to the Championship.

“The feedback shows not only how important a behind-the-scenes view is to fans, but also how much Sheffield United Football Club means to the dedicated fans who follow the Blades, game after game, year after year.”

Highlights of our work included capturing the team coach’s arrival back at Bramall Lane on the day the Club had secured promotion, with one post in particular reaching 750,000 Facebook users and being shared thousands of times.

In the days leading up to each game we produced creative motion graphics detailing the Club’s head-to-head record with each of their opponents and a background to the history of every fixture.

Paul Reeves, Head of Commercial at Sheffield United Football Club, added: “We’re delighted to see that HRM have been nominated for a major industry award – it’s something that is fully deserved.

“The content produced by HRM reached millions of social media users across the globe – naturally, we were absolutely delighted with all of their work.

“It has been a positive experience working with HR Media and we look forward to evolving our socially engaging world with them in the coming season.”

After being shortlisted, we will now be attending an awards gala dinner in Leeds later this year with Yorkshire and Lincolnshire’s other top PR agencies, hoping to come home with a win!
